Nyenrode Center for Sustainability

Birgit Dulski works for the Nyenrode Center for Sustainability as a senior researcher in sustainable building. Since 2001 Birgit has led various projects, initiatives and research surrounding the sustainable preservation of historic and characteristic buildings, whether or not they possess the status of monument. She is also involved in other research projects of the Center for Sustainability and in architectural contests where sustainability plays an important role. She is also active in the development of sustainable building by publications in reputable journals.

She combines her position at Nyenrode with a career as senior consultant at the Dutch Institute for Building Biology and Ecology (NIBE). At NIBE she was closely involved in the research Sustainable Cultural Heritage, commissioned by the Governments Building Agency (Rgd), the State Service for Cultural Heritage and the Foundation for Building research (SBR).

Birgit studied architecture and urban planning at the University of Kaiserslautern, the Hamburg-Harburg University of Technology and Delft University of Technology, where she graduated in 1995. Since then she is involved in sustainability projects in the Netherlands and the European Union. She has worked on multiple scales and was actively involved from the initiation phase to the implementation phase. Birgit previously worked at BOOM-Maastricht, office for environmental research and architectural design.
